In 1922, Hugh Glass joins the Rocky Mountain Fur Company in a search for fur trading up the Missouri river. When Glass separates himself from the group to explore, he is attacked by a grizzly bear. His colleagues found his unconscious body, and left him for dead when attacked by a hostile group of natives. Despite his intense injuries, Glass was still alive and succeeded in travelling the nearly 200 miles to the nearby Fort Kiowa.

This coat is inspired by the furs Glass wore on his travels to Fort Kiowa. The leather laces that run through the sleeves trace back to the clothes worn by Glass, which he used to strung the furs together.
